Cytkit is an open source spectral cytometer project, aiming to provide accessible and high-performance hardware (Cytkit instrument) and software (Honeychrome) for everybody. Major contributors so far are Samson Rogers, Oliver Burton and Catherine Vant.
We are also preparing to launch the sales of Cytkit kits and electronics sets through a spin-out company Astute Devices.
The inspiration came from the Open Cytometry Hardware workshop by David Novo at CYTO 2024 in Edinburgh, we were also inspired by the OpenFlexure Microscope project and other open source scientific instruments.
The aim is to provide a highly useful and accessible cytometry analyser:
- useful for technology developers
- useful for laboratory hackers
- useful for resource-limited labs
- useful for teaching flow cytometry
- useful for all cell biologists
Please get in touch (either through LinkedIn or the contact form) if you are:
- interested in contributing to the project
- interested in requesting our expertise
- interested in anything else!
